Marty joined the U.S. Army in 1991 and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer in 2012.
During his career he attended multiple schools and classes. Marty started his intelligence career by attending the Counterintelligence Special Agent Course. He later attended the highly selective Advanced Foreign Counterintelligence Training Course as a Chief Warrant Officer.
Marty deployed to combat theaters five times including deployments in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2008. The last four deployments he was in direct support of Special Operators with the Joint Special Operations Command.
Marty worked in small teams while deployed, usually two or less, and trained alongside the Special Operators he supported. Because he worked in small teams in civilian clothes with relaxed grooming standards, he was considered a "high-risk" for being directly targeted for kill or capture by the enemy. He was therefore expected to be able to survive in a non-permissive environment. Marty continuously trained in both military and civilian schools to enhance his overall survivability. Those schools included dozens of courses and classes in small arms, anti-terrorism driving, and advanced combatives. He also attended the Special Operations Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape (SERE) 215 Course along with an Escapology school.
Marty is currently an advanced firearms trainer with Delta Defense, LLC. We teach gunfighting in our advanced classes. Period. We discuss in detail survival theory and the mental aspects of surviving and winning a potentially lethal encounter. We of course cover the basic shooting fundamentals and manipulations of the pistol, carbine, and shotgun; but our focus is the survival mindset. FIND A WAY OR MAKE ONE!
We at Delta Defense pride ourselves on preparing our students for most any scenario, and we do it well. 99% of our students return to attend multiple other classes we provide.
All of our staff are highly qualified and very proficient in all materials we teach. We would love the opportunity to enhance your skillset wherever you have identified a potential deficiency. Once you attend your first Delta Defense class, history has shown it will not be your last.
We look forward to seeing you on the range.
Kaleb has been involved with martial arts since the age of 4. He trained in Krav Maga under Israeli Krav International instructor, Moshe Katz in Israel and is a second dan IKI Krav Maga Black Belt.

Donnie Nicholson is an instructor for our advanced handgun, carbine and precision shooting courses. He is a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division certified CWP instructor and holds certifications from the NRA in Pistol/Rifle instruction and Range Safety Officer.
When instructing a class, whether it be beginner or advanced, he always puts special emphasis on safety, fundamentals and as much one-on-one instruction that is needed to make sure everyone gains
the knowledge they are seeking. Donnie believes that the right to keep and bear arms is a God given, natural right that everyone should exercise.
